Our seventh 21st Century Learning Conference is planned for January 23, 2019. This conference is built around the district's newly adopted mission: Empower all Learners to Thrive. As part of the MURSD strategic plan, the portrait of a graduate outlines the skills and competencies that all students should possess as they leave our district. These two elements, the mission and our portrait, were the perfect combination for our January conference. Through a brainstorming session, students identified the "learning adventures" that would help them to equip them with the skills associated with the competencies. Built around the strands of global citizen, inspired innovator, solution seeker, mindful learner, effective communicator, and skillful collaborator, students will engage in sessions that partner them with community professionals, connect them with their passions, and in some cases took them off campus for a full-day experience. As was in our last conference, this conference not only included our professional partner and educator sessions but also student-led sessions.
