Our eighth 21st Century Learning Conference is planned for June 6, 2019. This conference is built around the one of our newly adopted beliefs about learning. "We believe the COMMUNITY is our classroom, encouraging and supporting authentic, enriching, and rewarding learning opportunities for all." One of the goals for the day is for students to learn outside of the Nipmuc campus and in our communities. Additionally, as part of our district's strategic plan, the portrait of a graduate outlines the skills and competencies that all students need to be successful.
Through a collaborative brainstorming session, students identified the learning adventures that would help them to equip them with the skills associated with the portrait of a graduate competencies. Built around the strands of global citizen, inspired innovator, solution seeker, mindful learner, effective communicator, and skillful collaborator, students will engage in sessions that partner them with community professionals, connect them with their passions, and hopefully in most cases take them off campus for a full-day experience. As was in our last conference, this conference is being planned to include adventures facilitated by our professional partners, educators, as well as our students.
