On Wednesday, January 8, students all across MURSD will explore our district’s mission - “We empower all learners to thrive” - as each school in the district hosts an Inspired Learning Day. Formerly known as 21st Century Learning Conferences, Inspired Learning Days are learning events that allow our students to take the lead in their learning. On Wednesday, as more than 2300 students arrive at Memorial School, Clough School, Miscoe Hill, and Nipmuc - they will embark on learning experiences that help us to bring our mission to life.
For the past four years, Nipmuc has hosted 21st Century Learning Conferences - our full-day learning events that are modeled after professional conferences but are offered to students. The conferences provide an opportunity to work with students in new ways, allowing their interests and curiosities to drive our programming while engaging community partners in a non-traditional day of learning. Over our eight previous conferences, we’ve hosted hundreds of sessions on topics including financial wellness, career aspirations, personal interests, college preparation, curricular explorations, and more.
This year, we’re excited to see our 21st Century Learning Conferences evolve to become “Inspired Learning Days”. The change in the event name is not the only new part of our Inspired Learning Days. For the first time, this year they will be offered district-wide, giving students in grades K-12 the chance to explore this new model of learning and allowing for cross-school collaboration.
